U.S. NAVY / USMC DESERT MARPAT NAME TAPE

Section 3033 of the United States Marines Corps Regulations mandates the wear of name and service tapes on the Marine Corps Combat Utility Uniform, which has been manufactured since 2002 using the Corps’ two proprietary MARPAT camouflage patterns, one intended for desert terrain and another for wooded areas. This nametape is designed for the desert MARPAT pattern.

By regulation, only the last name is embroidered on the nametape in 3/4" high block letters, but condensed print (1/2”) lettering may be used in order to accommodate longer names. No special characters, initials, or organizational affiliation is permitted on the nametape. The nametape is worn over the right breast pocket.
