The black branch of service collar insignia worn on USMC Officer Service Uniforms is almost identical to the version worn by Enlisted Marines, with the only difference being that the anchor rope of the iconic Eagle, Globe, and Anchor emblem is connected at two distinct points on the Officers’ insignia but is continuously attached on the Enlisted device.
Service collar insignia is secured through eyelets provided on the collar of the coat which ensure the insignia is centered. Insignia is oriented so that the eagles are facing inboard and the wing tips of the eagle are parallel to the coat’ bottom.
Both the Officers and Enlisted branch of service insignia are 9/16-inch in diameter, an eighth of an inch smaller than then the silver-and-gold insignia worn by Officers on the collars of dress uniform coats.
