Per USMC regulations, our slotted gold-plated coat belt buckle for the Marine Corps Service coat comes with a belt made of the same material and in the same color as the coat itself. Worn at the natural waistline, the belt covers the bottom button of the Service coat, and when the tipped end is passed through the buckle it should extend between 2.75” to 3.75” past the buckle and be secured by the keeper.
To ensure a balanced appearance, position the belt so the inboard side of the keeper is equidistant from the buckle’s outside edge and the belt’s tip. When fastening the Service coat belt, do not cinch it too tightly—the belt should fit the coat waist rather than being pulled up tightly snugly against the wearer’s waist.
